Message from The Dean

Welcome to the Faculty of Computer Science, Sriwijaya University. It is with very much pleasure that I welcome you all to visit Fasilkom-Unsri’s Website. I also take this opportunity to thank all heads of divisions for the extra effort, especially ICT team of Fasilkom, put in the task to make this website possible. This marks yet another milestone in the Faculty’s endeavours to contribute to social transformation and development of our University, by sharing with the rest of the world important information and initiatives of the Faculty.

The Fasilkom-Unsri’s website is an important tool used to disseminate information to its stakeholders in South Sumatera and beyond. The website has been a source of information to students, staff and other Faculty stakeholders since the year 2007 when it was first designed. The old website had a number of limitations, which made it difficult for the Faculty to reflect most of its activities. In the website provided very minimal information, very complicated procedures to update information and it was not supported by infrastructures. On the other hand, the new website is a modern piece of work which has been developed using modern technologies. The new website is designed to meet the expectations of students, members of staff and the general public. It endeavours to provide information on staffs, students, research activities, teaching and learning, community engagement initiatives and virtually captures all activities that the Faculty engages in on a daily basis. This will increase traffic as more users will find the site valuable hence marketing the institution will be easier.

Once again, I would take this opportunity to thank the ICT department for extra effort to make our website better. Whatever we have made, I wish to remind you though that we still have a lot of works to do on the website to ensure that most of the information is posted and updated continuously.
